Purpose

• Evaluate the Synovial Plicae of the knee as a cause of knee pain
• Note: this test is not well described in the literature

Description

• The patient is seated or supine
• The tibia is quickly swung into flexion from full extension
  • Stop somewhere between 30 and 60°
• Positive test
  • Reproduction of pain
  • Thought to be due to stretching of plica with eccentric contraction of the quadriceps
