Purpose


Description

  • The patient is prone
  • Grasp the calcaneus to invert the subtalar joint, dorsiflex the ankle
  • Using the other hand, place fingers on the navicular and base of metatarsal 2/3
  • Apply a dorsiflexion force with the fingertips
  • Evaluate for
    • Quality of end range of motion
    • Compare to unaffected limb
    • Patient describes pain during exam
