Posterolateral drawer test performed in the right knee on the operating table. Upper image presents starting point and in the lower picture excessive posterolateral tibial translation with external rotation can be observed under loading.[2]

Purpose


Description

  • Patient is supine
    • Note this test can be performed prone
  • Knee flexed to 90°, externally rotated 15°
  • Examiner grips the femoral condyles and directs a posterior force
  • Positive test
    • Excess posterolateral translation
