Purpose


Description

  • The patient is supine, hip and knee flexed
  • The feet are flat on the examination table, the examiner sits on the patients foot
  • Examiner places one hand directly over the anterior aspect of the proximal tibia
    • At the level of the tibial tubercle
  • The examiner then delivers a blow to the back of their hand
  • Positive test
    • Significant posterior joint pain
