Purpose
- To evaluate for appendicitis as a cause of the patients abdominal pain
- A positive test indicates irritation of iliopsoas
Description
- Method One
- The patient is supine
- The patient is asked to lift their right leg straight up
- The examiner places pressure on the thigh
- Method Two
- The the patient lie on their left side
- The examiner passively extends the right hip
- Positive test
- Abdominal pain
