History

  • First described by French Anatomist Jean Paul Louis Denucé[2]

Description

  • Fibrous band attached to:
    • Inferior border of the radial notch on the ulna
    • Neck of the radius
  • Strengthened by the upper border of the annular ligament

Function

  • Reinforces the inferior part of the elbow joint
  • Contributes to joint stability by securing proximal radius against the radial notch
  • Maintains constant tension during pronation and supination movements of the forearm
  • Restricts excessive supination and pronation

Clinical Significance

  • Needs to be updated
