Purpose
- Evaluate the sacroiliac joint as a cause of the patients pain
Description
- The patient is prone
- Examiner places a hand beneath one of the patient’s ASIS and asks him to hyperextend the tested leg up to 15 degrees
- Positive test
- Patient’s ASIS is lifted up from the examiner’s hand that was placed beneath it
- Negative test
- Pressure of ASIS onto the examiner’s hand increases
