Purpose
- Identify extent of ankle injuries and whether Tibiofibular Syndesmosis is involved
- Also assesses the integrity of the Fibula, Tibia
Description
- Patient is supine
- Examiner grasps patients leg midway up the calf
- They apply a compression on the medial and lateral side and then release
- Positive test:
- Pain is reproduced along the syndesmosis

- Specificity: 55.9%
- PPV: 37.2%
- NPV: 62.3%
