Purpose


Description

  • Patient is supine
  • Examiner grasps patients leg midway up the calf
  • They apply a compression on the medial and lateral side and then release
  • Positive test:
    • Pain is reproduced along the syndesmosis

    • Sensitivity: 44.4%
    • Specificity: 55.9%
    • PPV: 37.2%
    • NPV: 62.3%
