Purpose

• Evaluate the Synovial Plicae of the knee as a cause of knee pain

---

Description

• The patient is seated with affected leg flexed to 90°
• Examiner places hand on the center of the patella
• Patient then actively extends knee while observing patellar movement
• Positive Test
  • Patella 'stutters' or jumps during course of movement
  • Typically occurs around 45-70°
  • Crepitus may also be appreciated
