  • Stylohyoid Muscle
  • Musculi colli stylohyoideus

General

  • Small, thin muscle in the neck that helps with swallowing and speech
  • Located in the anterior triangle of the neck
  • Part of the Suprahyoid Muscle Group

Origin

  • Styloid process of temporal bone

Insertion

Function

  • Elevates and draws hyoid bone posteriorly

Innervation

Vascular Supply

  • Branches of
    • Facial artery
    • Occipital artery
    • Posterior auricular artery
