- Located in the anterior triangle of the neck
- Part of the Suprahyoid Muscle Group
Origin
- Styloid process of temporal bone
Insertion
- Body of hyoid bone
Function
- Elevates and draws hyoid bone posteriorly
Innervation
- Stylohyoid branch of facial nerve (CN VII)
Vascular Supply
- Branches of
- Facial artery
- Occipital artery
- Posterior auricular artery
