• Ischial spine

Insertion

• Femur (medial surface of greater trochanter)

• External Rotation and Abduction of thigh
• Stabilizes Femur in acetabulum

Vascular Supply

• Inferior Gluteal Artery
• Internal Pudendal Artery
• +/- Superior Gluteal Artery

Innervation

• Obturator Internus Nerve (L5-S1)
