Purpose


Description

  • The patient is seated or standing
  • Examiner grips the patients metacarpal bone of the thumb and apply an axial load
  • You can move in gentle circles
  • Positive test
    • Pain
    • Crepitus

Pathology


Evidence

Carpometacarpal Arthritis

  • Model et al[3]
    • Sensitivity: 30% - 53%
    • Specificity: 80% - 96.7%
