- Superficial cervical nerve
- Cutaneous cervical nerve
- Anterior cutaneous cervical nerve of the neck
General
- Cutaneous sensory branch of the cervical plexus
- Formed from the anterior rami of spinal nerves C2 and C3
Gross Anatomy
- Curves from the plexus posteriorly around sternocleidomastoid
- Perforates the deep cervical fascia and then divides into an ascending and descending branch
- Ascending branch communicates with the cervical branch of the facial nerve
Sensory Innervation
- Skin of the anterior neck between the chin and the sternum
