  • Trapeziotrapezoid Ligament
  • Trapeziotrapezoidal Interosseous Ligament
  • Trapezium–Trapezoid Ligament
  • Trapezial–Trapezoid Ligament
  • Intercarpal Ligament (Trapezium–Trapezoid)
  • Ligamentum Trapeziotrapezoideum

General

Gross Anatomy

  • Has volar, dorsal and interosseous components[3]
  • Volar/dorsal portion spans entire length of joint edges, covers a large portion of cortex
  • Deep/interosseous portion is not well described

MRI Features

  • Best viewed on axial and coronal planes with normal orientation
  • More easily visualized with MR arthrography[4]

Clinical Significance

  • Carpometacarpal instability
  • Carpal Instability
