Purpose
- A finding sometimes associated with peripheral nerve compression syndromes
- Origiginally described by French physician François Louis Isidore Valleix (need citation)
- Not widely discussed in the literature
Description
- For a given peripheral nerve along its path:
- Localized tenderness
- Radiating proximally from the site of compression
- Suggestive of a perihpheral nerve entraptment
- Tenderness at the tarsal tunnel
- Pain radiating proximally up the leg
