Purpose
- Evaluate the Patellofemoral Joint as a cause of knee pain
Description
Standing Version
- The patient is standing, clinician is kneeling at the side of the affected leg
- Patient is asked to perform deep knee bends while physician palpates the Patella
- Positive Test
- Pain, crepitus & poor tracking of the patella
Supine Version
- The patient lies supine
- Examiner presses the patella into the femur while simultaneously passively flexing the knee
- Positive Test
- Pain, crepitus & poor tracking of the patella
