  • Waldren's Test

Purpose


Description

Standing Version

  • The patient is standing, clinician is kneeling at the side of the affected leg
  • Patient is asked to perform deep knee bends while physician palpates the Patella
  • Positive Test
    • Pain, crepitus & poor tracking of the patella

Supine Version

  • The patient lies supine
  • Examiner presses the patella into the femur while simultaneously passively flexing the knee
  • Positive Test
    • Pain, crepitus & poor tracking of the patella
