Purpose

  • To help deduce the cause of the patients lower back pain

Description

  • The patient is examined supine
  • The patient is brought into the straight leg raise position
  • From there, slightly flex the knee and a apply pressure to the tibial nerve in the popliteal fossa
  • Positive test
    • Reproduction of the patients pain
