- Bursa of the Hip
- Hip bursae
General
- Synovial fluid-filled sacs in the hip region
- Objective is to facilitate movement and reduce friction between muscles/tendons and bone
- Can be communicating or non-communicating with the hip joint
- Most are not seen on imaging unless pathologic or distended

- Greater Trochanteric Bursa (subglute max bursa)
- Superficial Subgluteus Maximus Bursa
- Deep Subgluteus Maximus Bursa
- Subgluteus Medius Bursa
- Subgluteus Minimus Bursa
- Secondary Subgluteus Minimus Bursa
- Gluteofemoral Bursa
- Piriformis Bursa
Posteroinferior
- Obturator Externus Bursa
- Obturator Internus Bursa
- Ischiogluteal Bursa
