• Lateral aspect of the ilium between the inferior and middle gluteal lines
• Deep to the gluteus medius

Insertion

• Anterior surface of the Greater Trochanter

Actions

• Hip abduction
• Medial (internal) rotation of the hip
• Works synergistically with the Gluteus Medius

Vascular Supply

• Superior Gluteal Artery

Innervation

• Superior Gluteal Nerve
