- Lateral aspect of the ilium between the inferior and middle gluteal lines [3]
- Deep to the gluteus medius
Insertion
- Anterior surface of the Greater Trochanter
Actions
- Hip abduction
- Medial (internal) rotation of the hip
- Works synergistically with the Gluteus Medius [4] [3]
