Purpose
- Evaluate for scapular dysfunction
Description
- Patient retracts both scapulae “pinching” them together
- May also “pinch” examiner’s index finger between them
- Positive test
- Weakness or asymmetry
Modification
- Burning pain while holding that position for only 15 - 20 seconds
- Indicates deconditioned scapular musculature
