Purpose
- Evaluate cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine for nerve root compression
Description
- Patient is seated or laying supine, examiner is behind patient
- Examiner applies pressure to bilateral jugular veins for approximately 30 seconds
- Examiner asks patient to cough
- Positive test
- Reproduction of pain along the same distribution

- Internal Jugular Vein Thrombosis
- Right Heart Dysfunction
