- Occipital bone (inferior nuchal line, middle 1/3, superior to Rectus Capitus Posterior Major)
Actions
- Bilateral: Extension of head
- Unilateral: Lateral flexion/sidebending of head to same side, Rotation of head to opposite side
Vascular Supply
- Vertebral Artery
- Occipital Artery (Deep Descending Branch)
Nerve
- Suboccipital Nerve (Posterior ramus of cervical spinal nerve C1)
