Etymology
- First described by French urologist Jean Casimir Felix Guyon (1831-1920)[2]
General
- Located in the distal forearm
- Fibrous structure which forms the roof of Guyons Canal
Gross Anatomy
- Proximally, continues with the deep fascia of the forearm
- Attaches to the pisiform, pisiform ligamentous complex, triquetrum
- Also has an attachment to the flexor retinaculum over the hamate
- Superficial to the tendon of palmaris longus, flexor retinaculum
- Laterally/ radially attached to the anterior border of the radius
Function
- Contributes to supporting the contents of Guyon's canal
