- Rhomboid Major
- Musculus rhomboideus major
General
- Extrinsic muscle of the shoulder, located deep to trapezius
- Part of the Rhomboid Muscle Group
Origin
- Spinous processes of the T2-T5 vertebra
Insertion
- Medial border of the Scapula, just inferior to the rhomboid minor
Actions
- Retracts scapula, rotates it to depress the glenoid cavity
- Fixes the scapula to the thoracic wall
- In conjunction with the Rhomboid Minor
