Purpose
- To evaluate the scapula and spinal accessory nerve as a cause of the patients shoulder pain
Description
- The patient holds both arms at their side, elbow flexed to 90 degrees
- They hold a dowel or rod in both hands
- They externally rotate both hands against resistance
- Positive test
- Lower/ middle trapezius unable to oppose the pull of the infraspinatus/posterior deltoid
