Scapular Dyskinesis Test

Purpose


Description

  • Stand behind the patient with their shirt off
  • Have them raise their arm in forward flexion to maximum elevation
  • Lower the arm to rest
    • Repeat 3-5 times
  • Positive test
    • Abnormal scapular motion

Modification

  • Repeat the test with 3-5 pounds of weight in each hand
