Purpose
- Evaluate for radicular neck pain
Description
- The patient is seated or standing.
- The affected limb has to be actively or passively raised above the head
- The palm is placed on the top of the head
- Hold position for 5-10 seconds
- Positive test
- Symptoms improve (suggesting relief of traction forces on the nerve)
- Negative test
- Symptoms worsen (suggesting myofascial tension on the nerve)

- Sensitivity: 17–78%
- Specificity: 75–92%
