Biceps Tension Test

  • Biceps Tension Test

Purpose


Description

  • The patient is standing
  • Abduct and laterally rotate the arm to 90 degrees
  • Elbow is extended, forearm supinated
  • Examiner places one hand on the scapula and clavicle to stabilize them
  • The other hand grasps the forearm
  • The examiner then applies an adducting force to the forearm while the patient resists
  • Positive test
    • Reproduction of the patients symptoms
