Bony and ligamentous structures of the AC joint[1]
Schematic representation of the coracoacromial ligament (CAL) attachment on the inferior surface of the anterior aspect of the acromion of a right shoulder. Also pictured are the trapezoid ligament and conoid ligament[2]

  • Conoid ligament

General

Gross Anatomy

  • Shaped like an inverted cone
  • Origin: knuckle of the coracoid process of the scapula
  • Runs upward, forming an inverted cone as it widens
  • Insertion: undersurface of the clavicle (around the conoid tubercle)
