Lateral Pectoral Nerve

General

Innervation

Gross Anatomy

  • Originates from the lateral cord of the brachial plexus
  • Contains fibers from C5 to c7
  • Passes anterior to the axillary artery
  • Gives rise to a communicating branch which joints the medial pectoral nerve
  • This forms the ansa pectoralis
  • Then it pierces toe costocoracoid membrane
  • Terminating in the deep surface of the pectoralis major muscle
