Name
- Medial Pectoral Nerve
- Nervus Pectoralis Medialis
General
- Motor nerve arising from the medial cord of the brachial plexus
- Innervates pectoralis minor, sternocostal head of pectoralis major
Gross Anatomy
- Originates on the medial cord of the brachial plexus, fibers from C8 and T1
- Posterior to the axillary artery, then passes medially to the second part
- Runs anteriorly between axillary arery and vein
- Commonly receives a branch from the lateral pectoral nerve, forms ansa pectoralis
- Here, it penetrates pectoralis minor
- Some fibers continue through to supply lower portion of pectoralis major

- Pectoralis Minor
- Pectoralis Major (sternocostal head)
