Name

  • Medial Pectoral Nerve
  • Nervus Pectoralis Medialis

General

Gross Anatomy

  • Originates on the medial cord of the brachial plexus, fibers from C8 and T1
  • Posterior to the axillary artery, then passes medially to the second part
  • Runs anteriorly between axillary arery and vein
  • Commonly receives a branch from the lateral pectoral nerve, forms ansa pectoralis
  • Here, it penetrates pectoralis minor
  • Some fibers continue through to supply lower portion of pectoralis major
