Infrahyoid neck muscles including Omohyoid, Sternohyoid, Sternothyroid, and Thyrohyoid
The 8 extrinsic muscles of the larynx[1]

Name

  • Sternohyoid

General

Gross Anatomy

  • Origin: Manubrium of sternum, medial end of clavicle
  • Insertion: Inferior border of body of hyoid bone

Action

  • Depresses hyoid bone (from elevated position)

Innervation

Vascular Supply

  • Superior thyroid artery
