From WikiSM

Description

PL tendon—passes through the antebrachial fascia (dashed arrow) (a) and during clinical testing (b). PLT palmaris longus tendon, PLT* palmaris longus tendon under the antebrachial fascia, FCR flexor carpi radialis, FCU flexor carpi ulnaris[1]

Name

  • Antebrachial fascia
  • Deep fascia of the forearm

General

Gross Anatomy

  • Envelopes the forearm from the elbow to the wrist
  • Thicker dorsal/distal compared to proximal/ volarl[2]
  • Forms several intermuscular septa which enclose different forearm muscles
  • Proximally, connected to the olecranon and proximal ulna
  • At the elbow, contains an opening for connection of the superficial and deep veins of the forearm
  • Distally, continuous with the transverse carpal ligament, forming a sheath for the palmaris longus which inserts into the palmar aponeurosis
  • Dorsally, continuous with the dorsal carpal ligament
