(Redirected from Dorsal distal radioulnar ligament)
Description

Name
- Dorsal Radioulnar Ligament (DRUL)
- Ligamentum Radioulnare Dorsale
- Posterior Radioulnar Ligament
- Dorsal radioulnar ligament of the TFCC
- Dorsal radioulnar component of the TFCC
- Dorsal distal radioulnar ligament
- Dorsal DRUJ ligament
- Posterior distal radioulnar ligament
- Dorsal radioulnar capsular ligament
General
- One of the primary stabilizers of the distal radioulnar joint
- Contributes to the triangular fibrocartilage complex
Gross Anatomy
- Deep and superficial division can be considered separate laminae
- Attach into the radial fovea and ulnar styloid respectively
Anatomic Relationships
- Intimately related to the volar radioulnar ligament
- During pronation, volar ligament is lax and dorsal ligament tightens
- During supination, dorsal ligament relaxes and volar ligament tightens
Vascular Supply
- Palmer and Dorsal Branches of Anterior Interosseous Artery
Innervation
Clinical Significance
- Distal Radioulnar Joint Dislocation
- Distal Radioulnar Joint Instability
- Distal Radial Ulnar Joint Injection
- Galeazzi Fracture
- Colles Fracture
- Smith Fracture
