Purpose

• Evaluate the Lunotriquetral Joint as a cause of the patients wrist pain
• Assesses the stability of the Lunotriquetral Ligament which stabilizes the joint space between the Lunate and Triquetrum

Description

• Patient is seated or standing
• Pronate the affected hand and stabilize the lunate
• Push up on the triquetrum and down on the lunate
• Observe the patient for tenderness or pain
• Compare with contralateral hand
• Positive test:
  • Pain
  • Subluxation
  • Crepitus
