Tibiocalcaneal Ligament
(Redirected from Tibiocalcaneal ligament)
Description

General
- Belongs to the medial supporting structures of the ankle
- One of the four superficial components of the deltoid ligament[3]
Gross Anatomy
- Located superficial to the deep posterior tibiotalar ligament
- Located posterior to the tibiospring ligament
- Located anterior the superficial posterior tibiotalar ligament
- Courses nearly vertically from the medial malleolus to the posterior sustentaculum calcanei[4]
- Tension increases with pronation and dorsiflexion
Attachments
- Proximal attachment inserts on the intercollicular groove of medial malleolus
- Distally inserts on posterior part of sustentaculum tali
- Just posterior to the superomedial portion of calcaneonavicular ligament
